Germany faces a severe shortage of skilled labour in the education sector, particularly in day care centres and schools. A significant role in addressing this shortfall could be played by migrant educational professionals and teachers who already live in Germany or who could be recruited from abroad for this purpose. However, they face many barriers that make their career entry more difficult. The project aims to (1) identify the current demand for qualified labour in day care centres and schools and assess the potential of skilled workers from abroad, (2) analyse the legal and practical barriers for skilled workers from abroad in the education sector, (3) evaluate previous integration measures and, on this basis, (4) formulate recommendations for action to improve the recognition process and create sustainable employment prospects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
